Description

Bethel was contracted by the City of Bethel to install a new water main pipeline and provide electrical and mechanical upgrades to the Bethel Subdivision Water Treatment Plant (SWTP) in Bethel. Bethel installed 7,300 linear feet (LF) of new arctic water main which included pipeline supports along 5,800 LF of the new water main.

The project required Bethel to reverse existing residential water services after the installation. A portion of the new water main crossed Chief Eddie Hoffman Highway and required trenchless technology boring under the road for installation of the water main.

The materials installed included:

  • 8,700 LF of 8’ by 20 ‘ Arctic Insulated Pipe Water Main, including the necessary joint appurtenances; and,

  • 12, 8’ by 20 ‘ Insulated Arctic Pipe long sweep 90 degree bends.

At the completion of the construction, Bethel conducted a system chlorination test and water testing. Bethel also provided systems training for local personnel on the Booster Skid Pumps, Heat Exchanger, Heat Trace Pumps, and High Demand Pump.
