Job Title: Carpenter

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Carpenter to join our team in rural Alaska. This position requires experience in wood / metal framing, finish carpentry, and general construction. The ideal candidate will be adaptable, self-sufficient, and comfortable working in remote environments with limited resources.
Responsibilities:
Construct, install, and repair structures, including commercial buildings, and remote facilities.
Work with materials such as lumber, plywood, sheetrock, and composite materials.
Perform framing, roofing, SIPS, siding, and interior finish work.
Read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical drawings.
Operate hand and power tools safely and efficiently.
Work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme cold, wind, and snow.
Follow safety guidelines and maintain a clean job site.
Assist with material procurement and logistics in remote locations.
Qualifications:
Experience: Minimum 2–5 years of carpentry or construction experience.
Skills: Proficiency in framing, finish work, and basic plumbing/electrical knowledge is a plus.
Tools: Must have own set of basic carpentry tools.
Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ lbs, work in rugged conditions, and perform physically demanding tasks.
Other: Valid driver’s license; ability to travel by boat, ATV, or small aircraft may be required.
Preferred:
Experience working in remote or off-grid environments.
Knowledge of Alaskan building codes and construction techniques for cold climates.
Ability to work independently and problem-solve in challenging conditions.
Compensation:
Prevailing wages or competitive wages based on experience.
Housing and meals may be provided for remote locations.
Travel stipends may be available.
